First Ever McLaren F1 for Sale

One of the automotive industry's future iconic vehicles, the first ever McLaren F1 manufactured, is up for grabs for no less than $3,175,000 (2.46 million euros). A huge price, you think? A bargain, given the fact that the car only has 300 miles on the odometer (482 km).

The guy who bought it and barely used it is Uwe Gemballa, the founder of the tuning house wearing the same name and the Yellow Notice issued by the Interpol following his disappearance this February in South Africa.

The now bankrupt tuner is selling the F1 for over three times the price of the car, which some 15 year ago was worth retailed for about $1 million. That says a lot about the vehicle's heritage and, even if it might get someone bankrupt today, it will surely pay off in the long run.

As you already know, the car features a 6.1l BMW V12 engine which develops 627 hp at 7,500 rpm and 651 Nm of torque at 5,600. It accelerates from naught to sixty in 3.2 seconds and tops at a speed of 240.1 mph (386 km/h).

The car is the first production version of the model and was manufactured in 1995. In all, 100 such vehicles were manufactured: 65 street cars, 5 LM versions, 3 GT and the rest GTR racing models.

At the time when it entered the market, it was the fastest production car ever built, before being outclassed by the Koenigsegg CCR and the Bugatti Veyron.

It currently belongs to the American division of Gemballa. Additional information about the car can be obtained by visiting Jameslist.com or by contacting Gemballa North America ([email protected]).
