With the cat out of the bag, namely the official (online) reveal of the 2021 Ford F-150 Raptor, we should all return to the usual order of business. Not yet, though, because there’s a tremendous amount of details to be shared about the off-road performance pickup, even though we’re still in the dark about some of the most important figures.
So, the Blue Oval is playing hide and seek with an entire world as far as the all-important horsepower and torque ratings are concerned. Instead, it is promising that’s just the first chapter, and a flagship Raptor R will be coming for the 2022 model year.

Naturally, that’s cause for its rivals - especially Ram - to make fun of the indecision and try to snatch the red carpet from underneath the 2021 F-150 Raptor. Frankly, there’s nothing anyone can do about it since Ford basically allowed the competition to showcase its strengths against a blank spreadsheet.

On the other hand, there’s a raft of other essential details that can be discussed. And a few media outlets have decided to provide them in easy to digest video formats. First up, Kelley Blue Book’s channel on YouTube, which has a quick first look that’s broken down into a few very important chapters and even has the entire voiceover text affixed to the description.

This footage, coming in at under five minutes, is easy to digest and also brings a bit more on-screen time for the Raptor than Ford already released in its first official social media video. You know, the one that was all about off-roading, the Baja driving mode, and father-son connections playing out while Metallica fittingly sang its “Enter Sandman” hit.

Next up are the traditional first impressions from The Fast Lane Truck, which go further in depth (and length, at almost 19 minutes – but that’s still manageable on a lunch break) and have an up-close and personal look (albeit static) at what makes the F-150 Raptor tick.

We love these little presentations because they’re usually devoid of the incessant marketing talk used by automakers to describe their new products, so it’s always easier to extract essential information. Especially when everything is broken down in crystal clear chapters, like TFL Truck’s recent video (also embedded below, alongside KBB’s and the official footage from the Blue Oval).
