First Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 Delivered

The first Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 example of the only 75 to be built has been delivered to its owner, the British division of Subaru recently announced. The customer in question is Mark Edwards from Chipping Camden, Gloucestershire, who has received the keys to the compact four wheel drive machine from the Subaru dealer Cross Roads, in Tredington.

“As a huge Impreza fan I’m thrilled to be the first to take delivery of the ultimate incarnation of the model line,” stated Edwards. “The CS400 is everything I’d hoped it’d be and more. The performance is simply astounding and to know I’m one of just 75 people in the world to own one… well, it’s a very special feeling.”

The power unit fitted under the hood of the Cosworth Impreza STI CS400 develops 400 hp at 5,750 rpm), enough to blast the car past the 62 mph (100 km/h) mark in just 3.7 seconds. Other refinements include a bespoke brake package – with six-pot calipers – developed in partnership with AP Racing, for enhanced stopping power.

A wide range of further upgrades has also been made to the suspension, exhaust and to the original Impreza exterior and interior styling, including new Recaro seats and Piano Black finishes. The car uses a set of 18 inch allow rims that widen the tracks by 18 mm and are wrapped in Michelin Pilot Sport 3 tires.

“We’re extremely proud of what we’ve achieved in collaboration with Cosworth. We set out to create the ultimate STI and I believe we’ve done just that. I know that Mr Edwards, and the other 74 buyers, will be very happy with their purchase,” Subaru UK Marketing Director, Kenyon Neads, said in a statement.
