The first 2014 Corvette Stingray Convertible production unit will be sold off for charity as part of a Barrett-Jackson auction on April 5, thus carrying on the tradition GM has established for quite a while.
After the first built Stingray Coupe fetched over a million dollars back in January, General Motors has agreed to auction the inaugural C7 Convertible vehicle to benefit Barbara Ann Karmanos Cancer Institute, MotorWard reports.
The Corvette Convertible will go under the hammer at Barrett-Jackson's 10th annual Collector Car Auction held at South Florida Fairgrounds in Palm Beach, but bidders will be able to make online submissions as well.
The 2014 Corvette Convertible, which was unveiled at the 2013 Geneva Motor Show, is powered by the same 450 HP LT1 V8 engine as the coupe and will hit dealerships in late August or early September.
