BMW went all out for its new M cars, developing them from the ground up but also creating two new paint colors in the process. The M3 Sedan received the so-called Yas Marina Blue while the M4 was dressed in Austin Yellow, both of them created to compliment the bodies of the two.
Therefore, the first cars put on order were wearing these two colors when they were delivered and the US model made no exception. The first F80 M3 ever delivered in the States was wearing the Yas Marina Blue option and belongs to Josh Shokri, the founder of Speed District.

Today, it’s far from the shape it was in when it touched American soil and the biggest change happened under the bonnet, of course. The stock 3-liter inline 6-cylinder biturbo S55 engine was taken from 431 HP and 550 Nm (406 lb-ft) of torque up to an impressive 580 HP and 847 Nm (625 lb-ft) of torque.

Imagine the numbers this car pulls. Just to write down 847 Nm (625 lb-ft) of torque from a 3-liter plant made our skin crawl... Imagine how this thing drives, especially since all of that goes to the rear wheels alone!

The stock car is quoted at 4.1 seconds to 100 km/h (62 mph) with the 7-speed DCT gearbox and we imagine there’s not a huge improvement here despite the higher power output because of the traction issues but at higher speeds, the 1,640 kg (3,615 lbs) car is an absolute monster.

To match the extra grunt, the M3 received the first ever Brembo Big Brake kit made up of 380 mm rotors front and back together with 6-pot and 4-pot brake calipers for the perfect amount of pressure.

As far as design changes go, the only improvement done to the sedan was a set of Morr MonoForged VS52 Competition wheels in a 20x9.5” and 20x11” fitment. They needed a new stance to make it work so the car was lowered using H&R Super Sport springs because the KW kits for the new M3 and M4 were not available at the time.
