As Mercedes premiered their G63 AMG, they decided to open their first dedicated AMG performance center in Beijing. The Sanlitun AMG Performance Center is located in one Beijing’s most renowned malls.
AMG has had performance centers around the World for a while now (195 to be precise), however, the Beijing Performance Center is not part of any Mercedes dealership and it only caters for AMG customers. The center itself is located in a very posh part of Beijing, Sanlitun Village North.
As Ola Kallenius, chairman of the Board of Management of Mercedes-AMG, stated, this is the first in a series of Performance Centers to be opened in various large cities of the World.
Mercedes has made this move in order to further consolidate AMG’s place on the market while also allowing them a more ‘independent brand presence’.
