The 4 Series Coupe just arrived in the US with deliveries having already begun and, as expected, the first models are starting to show up in tuning shops to get new, shinier parts.
Even though performance enhancing add-ons are not yet available, wheels from the previous E92 3 Series Coupe fit on the new model and that means customizing time is upon us!
One of the first 4ers to make a move in this direction came in the shop of the guys from European Auto Source. It’s a Sapphire Black 435i that went for some Vorsteiner VSE-003 wheels in the same, matching color.
Even though nothing else was added to the mix, the car is looking great, with its M Sport package and blacked out kidney grilles and blue M Performance brake calipers. Stay tuned, there’s more to come!
Black on black will always be a thing and this BMW makes no distinctive note. The thing is, it also has plenty of performance to offer, since it's a 435i. Under the bonnet hides a 3-liter inline 6-cylinder N55 turbocharged mill that uses a twin-scroll turbo to get incredible pedal response.
The total power output is 306 PS (300 HP) and it's joined by a 400 Nm (295 lb-ft) torque figure that allows the rear-wheel drive version to reach 100 km/h (62 mph) in 5.1 seconds when fitted with an automatic 8-speed gearbox and 0.3 seconds slower when hooked up to a manual gearbox. Get xDrive all-wheel drive included in the mix and those times go down by another 0.2 seconds on both versions.
The best part about having this engine at your disposal is its tuning potential and simple JB4 tunes have been known to take it up to well over 350 HP with a simple piggyback upgrade. Either way, tuned or not, with more power or not the 4 Series will surely write history.
