First 2015 VW Passat B8 Slammed on Air Suspension

A small auto shop called Streetec seems to have done the impossible – make a Passat that's cool. Perhaps we're unkind to the VW sedan, but there can be no question this slammed model is unlike any other in the world.

The bodywork is not that special. This looks like your average Trendline model with halogen headlights and a small engine. You can't even see the exhaust. But air suspension from Airride and a set of concave wheels from Oxigin completely change the stance, in combination with an Accuair eLevel system.

You might call taking an average family sedan and lowering it absurd, but it's common practice among Volkswagen enthusiasts. Every year when they gather onto the shores of lake Worthersee in Austria, they show off stanced rides like this one. And we bet many will be wondering who was the first to stance the Passat B8.

As for the wheels, these are Oxigins measure 9 x 20 inches on all four corners, shod with 245/30Z R20 Pirelli P zero tires. It's a bit of overkill, since the Passat in these photos probably has around 120 horsepower, so there's no traction problems.

The all-new Passat is the most important car Volkswagen launched since the Golf 7. Its based around an all-new modular platform and boasts no less than 10 different engines. The sedan segment is shrinking by the day and while Honda is thinking of withdrawing the Accord, VW has made its model into a premium one in order to attract BMW and Audi customers.
