Regardless of whether or not Dodge plans on limiting production of the 2015 Dodge Challenger SRT Hellcat, these cars will undoubtedly be extremely rare when they go on sale. None will be rarer, though, than the first Challenger SRT Hellcat (VIN 0001) be produced, which will be auctioned off at the Barrett-Jackson Las Vegas on September 27th.
After rolling off the Brampton, Ontario assembly line, this special Challenger SRT Hellcat will be headed to Detroit where it will visit the Conner Avenue Assembly Plant (home of the Dodge Viper) where it will receive its exclusive, hand-painted Stryker Red paint job. As stunning as the car looks in the single image released from Dodge, we can only imagine that it will look even better in real life.
In addition to its unique paint, Challenger SRT Hellcat VIN 0001 will get special Hellcat badges. To sweeten the deal even more, Dodge is also throwing in a bunch of other goodies including videos and images of the car being produced, an embossed iPad sleeve, a signed SRT Hellcat lithograph and its very own birth certificate.
“The 2015 Challenger Hellcat is already guaranteed to be one of the hottest cars that will roll through the Barrett-Jackson auction lanes in decades to come. The VIN 0001 being auctioned this year is the ultimate one-of-one collectible 2015 Dodge Challenger, as Dodge is ensuring there will never be another one like it,” said Tim Kuniskis, president and CEO of the Dodge and SRT brands
All of the proceeds Dodge receives from the auction will be donated to a Las Vegas-based organization called Opportunity Village, which serves people with significant intellectual disabilities; likewise, Barrett-Jackson is waiving all of its usual fees.
Where might the sales price rank for Dodge’s 707-hp supercharged Challenger? Well recent Barrett-Jackson auctions netted $300,000 for the first production 2015 Ford Mustang, $650,000 for the first production 2014 Chevrolet Camaro Z/28 and a cool $1 million for the first production 2015 Chevrolet Corvette Z06.
