One decade ago, when Nissan introduced the R35 generation of the car, the Japanese automotive producer hilariously attempted to keep tuners at bay by talking about aftermarket mods voiding the warranty.
Well, here we are in 2017 with the tuning realm having brought the Nissan GT-R to over five times the factory output. In fact, an Extreme Turbo Systems-massaged incarnation of the machine recently set a pair of quarter-mile records for the R35 - the Nissan became both the quickest (ET) and the fastest (trap speed) machine of its kind.
To be more precise, the car managed to complete the 1,320 feet sprint in 6.88 seconds at 222.9 mph. And yes, we're talking about the same beast that hit 255 mph in the half-mile, which also made for a record run. It's just that the crew behind the car upped the ante on the boost level after the half-mile stunt. The muscle number of the thing? North of 3,000 horses.
