Formula One racing cars and your everyday street vehicle will seem to get a little closer to each other after you get to see the new LF1 from the Italian design firm Fioravanti. The Moncalieri-based company will unveil at the 2009 Geneva Auto Show the new LF1 concept, a race car look-alike vehicle.
Obviously, the car is not street worthy. As you can see, it is far from being a vehicle you would usually use on your everyday drive. However, the design technology behind it could be used to narrow the gap between street and race cars. Fioravanti preferred not to release any technical specifications just yet, as it awaits the Geneva Auto Show.
The company will bring along to the aforementioned show another concept, this time a more user-friendly model, wordcarfans.com reported. Called the TRIS, the vehicle is a three-door compact that was first developed in 2000. TRIS is designed as a low-cost vehicle, built through a simplified project chain.
Fioravanti cut a number of corners when designing the TRIS. For example, all three doors on the car are identical, including the rear hatch head and tail lamps that are basically identical.
Fioravanti was set up in 1987 by Leonardo Fioravanti and was first intended as an architectural practice. The company was operating in the Japanese market, designing homes in Tokyo and several clubhouses for golf courses in the Tokyo area.
It was only in 1991 when Fioravanti diversified its activities into services dedicated to the automotive industry, focusing in particular on transport and industrial design.
