"Find Your Car" - Dubai’s Newest System for Forgetful Mall Visitors

The Dubai Mall, the city’s largest one, is currently testing a new system that will help drivers who forgot where they parked their car to locate it. Arguably a system that any large parking lot should posses, the drivers will insert their driving plates number on a touchscreen and will subsequently get directions on how to reach it.

The announcement was made last month by a spokesman of the Emaar Malls Group, the company owning Dubai’s biggest mall. Considering the shopping center received over 75 million visitors last year, we have to admit, losing your car in the parking lot is something you really don’t want to happen.

According to Arabian Business, the new system has been designed to assist visitors who lost their car in the parking lot. Basically, visitors insert their licence plates numbers via a touchscreen and the system locates the vehicle using a network of scanners installed throughout the parking area.

“Emmar Malls Group continues to innovate its services to ensure that our customer experiences are positive and seamless. With this as our priority, we strive to implement the latest technologies by working with some of the leading tech-providers,” the spokesman explained.

However, you rich travelers out there, hold your horses! Or your cars... The system is still on trial in the mall and a decision has not yet been made whether it will become a permanent fixture or not.
