It's been a good year for BMW Motorrad, and the sales figures for 2012 clearly show this: with a 2% sales increase worldwide, the German manufacturer reaches a new all-time record of 106,358 motorcycles and maxi scooters delivered to their owners. December 2012 meant a huge 43.4% sales increase over December 2011.
The R1200GS and the F800GS have been the most successful bikes in 2012, but the S1000RR was no slacker, selling half of the big GS (17,249 vs 8,970). The biggest increase has been recorded with the new Husqvarna motorcycles: a 15.7% above the previous year... and we'd say that they'll sell even better with Joan Barreda wining more stages in the 2013 Dakar.
2013 is going to be at least interesting to watch, with the big and resounding Husqvarna comeback and the liquid-cooled all-new BMW R1200GS, probably the biggest step this motorcycle has made in its long history.
