Things are really moving fast with the Federation Internationale de Motocylisme (FIM). After recently agreeing to allow electric motorcycles to compete against traditional ones powered by internal combustion engines, plans for a new global competition surface: the official FIM FreeStyle Motocross World Championship!
Competitors from all countries, including those already in the Night of the Jumps, will be grouped in teams organized by nationality. These teams will be pitted against each other in classic freestyle tricks shows, but the sweetest part is yet to come: FIM announced that many more complimentary contests will also be part of this championship, such as the highest air, best whips and more.

The FIM FreeStyle Motocross World Championship will be offered as a common effort with the French TV channel Sport Plus. We're extremely glad to see FIM becoming more easy going and finally understanding that freestyle motorcycling CAN be brought from the illegal street racing and tricks into the spotlight, in an official shape and it can make money.

The first event will take place in Germany, in May 2014, so there is plenty of time to make things run smooth. And yes: we're also waiting for the stunts...!
