Over the years, we’ve seen many atrocities on Craigslist, but we may have just come across one that tops them all. Cover your eyes ladies and gentlemen drivers, this 1983 Pontiac Firebird Trans Am has a custom fiberglass apparel that could easily give you nightmares.
The abomination showed up in Liberty, NY and at least the owner, Bill, admits there may be one or two issues with it - this refers to both the engine and the body.
“It runs good and has a manual fuel pump and needs a gas tank or fuel cell if preferred. Could use a tune up. The paint is good but the clear coat has flakes and scuffing and the body has some cracks as shown but it can easily be restored,” Bill says.
Don’t worry though, the thing has a removable top. It also sports a set of (new) American 14-inch Racing TrueSpoke wheels, shod in (also new) Supreme Sigma P tires. Apparently, this is a pretty important detail, since the guy is asking $1,500 (or best offer) with the wheels on or $1,000 without them.
It’s such a pity that the fiberglass job has ruined a Trans Am, since this was a special version of the Firebird. Regardless, don’t let yourself fooled by the 5-liter V8, this doesn’t pack more than 150 ponies. The mill is matter to a four-speed automatic tranny, overdrive included.
Apparently, Bill has had enough peackocking - the man is now willing to trade for a “good running 4x4 automatic pickup.”
While we do admit $1,000 is way too much for such a contraption, if you consider this as a motorized Halloween costume, the conclusion may be different. Trick or treat?
