Fiat’s Stand Combines Retro and Hard-Working Styles in Geneva

Here comes Fiat at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show, from the country that invented the ‘dolce far niente’ and the ‘la dolce vita’ mottos, with an retro version of the Fiat 500 and the industrious Fiat Doblo Trekking.

The Trekking version was supposed to be a more rugged, hairy-chested version of the Fiat Doblo and seeing in the metal during the 2015 Geneva Motor Show does confirm that. It is destined for customers that are willing to test unpaved roads and for that, the model received a 10 mm (0.4 in) raised height and the Traction+ system.

Fiat is also offering new 16-inch alloy wheels and beefier front and rear bumpers, along with an under-engine guard for those situations when drivers get too ambitious. Besides that, the interior gets an eco-leather treatment but clients can add optional equipment like rear parking sensors, cruise control, leather steering wheel and gearbox cover and the 5-inch Uconnect infotainment system.

The more bohemian side of the Fiat’s stand was occupied by this little guy: the Fiat 500 Vintage ’57. The name says it all but it’s hard not to notice those 16-inch retro-looking alloy wheels coupled with the old FIAT logos.

Get ready for a lively-colored exterior, as Fiat is only offering pastel colors that contrast with the white roof, spoiler, radio antenna and mirror covers.

The (not that new) Fiat 500 Vintage ’57 is available with the same engines as the standard model - both in the petrol and diesel departments. Those keen on having a modern blast from the bast will have to put up with a starting price of £16,000 ($24,374).
