Italian automaker Fiat has announced an upgrade program for its entire Punto range in the United Kingdom, including the addition of the new Sporting trim that features a number of exterior and interior enhancements.
Available with either three-door or five-door body styles, the 2013 Fiat Punto can be ordered in four main trim levels - Pop, Easy, GBT, and Sporting, which means that the Lounge and TwinAir versions have been retired.

Customers can choose from a range of six engines, including the two-cylinder TwinAir 0.9-liter that available with the Easy and GTB trims. If that’s too small, Fiat also offers the 1.2 8-valve petrol (69 HP), 1.4 8-valve petrol (77 HP), 1.4 8-valve petrol (77 HP) Dualogic, 1.4 16-valve MultiAir petrol (105 HP), and the 1.3 16-valve MultiJet diesel (85 HP).

Standard equipment for the entry-level Pop includes remote central locking, electric front windows, driver and passenger airbags, window airbags, radio/CD/MP3 player, Dualdrive electric power steering and a height-adjustable driver’s seat, while Easy and GBT add black Castiglio fabric seats, fog lights with cornering function, ambient lighting and side aribags. The GBT also comes with bigger 16-inch seven-spoke Sportline alloys.

As for the new Sporting trim, Fiat says it has “a dramatic appearance” that makes it “instantly recognizable and likely to appeal to a younger audience”. In English, this means exterior upgrades such as body colored rear spoiler and side skirts, gloss black roof, sports suspension, gloss black mirrors, Sporting dark headlamps, tinted glass and chrome exhaust tailpipe. Inside, the Sportlng has received a “Tarmac finish” dashboard, black interior roof lining, sports leather steering wheel, and leather gear knob and handbrake lever. The Sporting version can be fitted with either the 1.4 8-valve petrol engine or 1.4 16-valve MultiAir petrol unit.

On The Road pricing for the 2013 Fiat Punto starts at £9950.00 and can go as high as 13,955.00. For full details see our photo gallery section below.
