Fiat Rolls Off 4 Millionth Vehicle at the SEVEL Plant

Italian manufacturer Fiat announced today its SEVEL plant, a JV with PSA-Peugeot Citroen, has met its production target of 4 million vehicles. The vehicle that rolled off production lines was a Fiat Ducato Maxi, equipped with a 3.0 Multijet Power engine (157 HP of power and 400 Nm of torque), coupled with the Comfort-Matic automatic transmission.

“Sevel is the largest European factory producing medium-large vans, while the X250 family is the top seller of its segment in Europe with more than 30% of the volumes,”
a company statement reads.

The vehicle was also fitted with ESP, Cruise Control, bi-link rear suspension system, rear doors opening 270 degrees, automatic climate control and radio with CD player, and will be handed over to a German customer during the upcoming IAA Motor Show in Hannover, Germany, scheduled for September 23-30.

Fiat Ducato comes in 300 types of different bodies, more than 2000 versions, 150 optionals and more than 120 colors. The selection of engines is also wide: 3 Multijets (a 100 hp 2.2, a 120 hp 2.3 and the 157 hp 3.0) and a 136 hp 3.0 Natural Power (petrol/methane).

Overall, the Ducato range includes vehicles for transporting goods, vehicles for transporting passengers (from the Combi and Panorama to the Minibus and School bus, with solutions capable of ensuring the transport of 5 to 32 passengers) and conversion bases and versions (4 wheelbases and 5 lengths), as well as special lowered and lightened chassis designed for camper and motorhome manufacturers.
