Fiat Rolls Off 1,500,000th Panda in Poland

A new milestone was just set by Fiat’s Panda model, as the 1,500,000th vehicle rolled of the assembly line at the Fiat Auto Poland plant in Tychy. The Panda model that marked this historic landmark for the Italian carmaker was a 1.3 MultiJet in magnetic blue, which will be delivered to, of course, an Italian customer.

The Panda remains the biggest-selling segment A car in Europe without a break since 2003. The first Fiat Panda was made from 1980 to 2003 with only few changes, while the second generation model was launched in 2003, and got the European Car of the Year title, in 2004.

Available with 1.1-, 1.2- and 1.4-liter petrol and 1.3-litre MultiJet diesel engines, with pricing starting at £7,095 ($11,620) for the 1.1 Active Eco, rising to £10,400 ($17,033) for the 1.4 16v 100HP model.

The newest addition to the range is the 4x4 Adventure edition, intended for those who are into outdoor activities and for people working in the agricultural or forestry fields. The model comes with a green bodywork and matt black paint on the roof bars, pillars and mudguard arches, 14 inch dark grey wheels, tinted windows and bronzed front lights.

In addition to the standard Panda 4x4 version, the Adventure edition features a reinforced suspension and withstands a maximum load of 450 kg. The interior comes with washable anti-tear fabric and scratch resistant floor mats to further convince the customers of it's off road capabilities.

According to Fiat, the plant in Tychy has nearly 6,000 employees and one car rolls off its lines every 35 seconds. It forecasts the plant will produce a total of nearly 600,000 cars this year, of which 285,000 will be Panda models.
