Fiat Releases Music Video to Celebrate 500 US Launch

The 2012 Fiat 500 has finally made its US debut, and to mark the event, the Italian carmaker has released a little something extra to get your attention. The automaker is calling it a music video and it’s aimed at showing people the face that will soon greet them on every city block.

It’s not exactly our favorite slice of quattro stagioni pizza, but it’s thoroughly enjoyable. The music is Vivaldi's Concerto in D Major, Rv 228: Allegro and is remixed by an unnamed LA-based electronic band.

We’ll remind you that the latest edition to the 500 US-market range is the convertible version, which is priced starting from $20,000, some $4,000 more expensive than the 500 currently on the market.

On the local market, the 500 cabrio will be offered with the same engine as the regular version, namely a 1.4-liter four-cylinder MultiAir. The carmaker is selling it with a 4-year/50,000-mile warranty package, roadside assistance included and a 3-year/36,000 mile maintenance package.

The model is equipped with a fully power-operated cloth top, leather-wrapped steering wheel, central LCD monitor that shows pictograms from the TomTom navigation with BLUE&ME Handsfree Communication and a uniquely designed radio and climate control system.

“Perfectly timed with the warm weather and excitement of spring, the new 2012 Fiat 500 Cabrio expands our product lineup while paying homage to the brand’s rich heritage of open-air cabrios that deliver style, value and driving enjoyment,”
said Laura Soave, head of Fiat Brand North America.

The 500 Cabrio will be distributed in the US through the Fiat dealership network that already comprises 58 stores.
