Fiat's Professional division says that the sixth generation of the Ducato light commercial vehicle was born from the development of three guidelines: robustness, efficiency and new high-tech content.

The latest evolution of the 33-year-old model is characterized aesthetically by the three-piece front bumper, redesigned radiator grille available in two different colors and sleek LED headlights, with the addition of a sturdier skid plate and new 16-inch steel rims.

On the inside, comfort levels have grown a bit from the outgoing model thanks to the new seat design and by offering a choice of three trim levels: Classic, Tecno and Lounge. There are also developments in the field of infotainment, where the new model offers Bluetooth phone connectivity and MP3 playback as standard on all available stereos. The top-of-the-range version comes with a 5-inch touchscreen, reversing camera, built-in navigation and DAB playback.

Combining various solutions in terms of body, engine and mechanics, the all-new Fiat Ducato can be customized in 10,000 variants for commercial or passenger transport. Within the van range, you can choose from between eight different capacities, ranging from 8 to 17 cubic meters. The Italian hauler will be available in 4 lengths and 3 heights for vans, as well as 6 length options for chassis cabs.

As opposed to platform brothers Peugeot Boxer and Citroen Jumper, the Ducato can be equipped with an entry-level 2.0-liter MultiJet power plant to appease the more cost-conscious customer thanks to its 5.8 l/100 km official fuel consumption figure. The rest of the engine range consists of various 2.3 and 3.0-liter MultiJet diesels.

All versions offer the electronic stability control (ESC) system as standard. This has been improved through the rollover mitigation system, to increase comfort and protect the load from unexpected motion, in conjunction with the load detection (LAC) system, Hill Holder, anti-slip (ASR) system and electronic braking assistance (EBA) system.

From 1981 to date, Fiat sold over 2.6 million units of the Ducato worldwide. Prices and full specifications haven't been released yet, but we can tell you for sure that the all-new 2015 Fiat Ducato is set to arrive in July.
