Fiat Brings the Eco:Drive to the UK Fleet Market

Fiat’s Eco:Drive fuel-saving and emissions-reducing system is being brought to the UK fleet market, with the introduction of the Eco:Drive Fleet.

Eco:Drive Fleet increases the company fleet cars’ efficiency by measuring the mileage parameters for all the vehicles (distance traveled, time, fuel consumption) and presents the data for vehicles or drivers, individually or collectively. The software features an automatic update function that enters the management costs and mileage count information in the maintenance interval database. The system evaluates the driving style and how this influences the vehicle’s fuel consumption and offers tips that increase the transport's efficiency.

Offering Eco:Drive to fleets will spread the undoubted benefits of this technology, helping drivers to improve their driving efficiency, saving fuel and reducing their impact on the environment,” says Andrew Humberstone, managing director, Fiat Group Automobiles UK and Ireland. “In a fleet market context, individual drivers making small savings can have a positive effect in reducing the overall fleet carbon footprint and generate significant costs savings across the business, and eco:Drive can help with this goal,” he added.

The Fiat Eco:Drive is a 100% percent free application and can be used for all Fiat vehicles (the 500, the 500C, the Punto Evo, the Bravo, the Qubo and the new Doblo) and for commercial vehicles belonging to the Fiat Professional range (the Grande Punto Van, the Fiorino and the Doblo Cargo) that feature the Blue&Me platform. It can be downloaded here.

The application was introduced in 2008 - it is estimated that a total of 2,600 tonnes of CO2 have been saved through its use since then.
