The production-spec Fiat Aegea sedan has been spied testing without any major camouflage by Instagram user arabavcisi.
We suspect this happened somewhere in Turkey, not only because of his internet handle but also because the car is supposed to be assembled in this country (late in 2015).

The exterior of this pre-production car looks 99% identical to the car shown in May at the Istanbul Motor Show. Since then, we've learned that a concept was actually being displayed, but the changes only target minor trim pieces.

The Aegea is like a European version of the American Dodge Dart model. However, it will be built in Turkey, replacing the aging Linea model in Fiat's domestic showrooms.

Reports hint at an underwhelming lineup of engines that will include a 1.3 and 1.5-liter diesel. The only petrol model available will pack a 1.4-liter. The power output figures are expected to be between 95PS and 120PS. The dimensions should be very close to the concept’s 4500 mm length, 1780 width, 1480 height, and 2640 mm of wheelbase.

There is no denying that the Aegea looks more modern than the Linea, but it will be a budget car. Competing in the C-entry market with the Skoda Rapid and Peugeot 301, it will not be in the same league as the Jetta or Focus.

Many of the interior features will be shared with the 500L model, including the steering wheel and infotainment system along with air-con switches and other bits. High-spec cars will feature the 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system (including TomTom satellite navigation).

We expect the full debut to happen in Frankfurt, as the on-sale date set by Fiat is in late November 2015. Export models will be sent to the Middle East and Africa. The RHD variant for markets like the UK and Australia is not yet ready but has been placed under consideration.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
