Fiat 500X Live Photos, Anyone?

A couple of days ago, the gearhead side of the world wide web was offered with the first ever undisguised Fiat 500X. But that photo is taken at a weird angle and doesn't show everything the 500X packs on the outside. Thankfully, an Italian publication managed to get its hands on a few new photos of that same vehicle and now we can take a 360-degree look at it.

From the looks of it, the spied 500X was posing to the camera on the streets of a little, sleepy village in Tuscany. alVolante.it says that the photos were snapped by a reader that happened to be there. The reader told that this particular red Fiat 500X was spotted during filming of what we think will be the first ever video commercial of the nameplate.

Compared to the first live photo leaked, this batch features pics that properly show us both the rear and front of the Fiat 500X. Just as we suspected, it's a good-looking son of a gun this new lil' Fiat. The mini SUV body, the black plastic of the broad wheel arches, the chrome bezels that beautify the squarish tail lights or the slanted rear window are elements that together make the 500X an overall package more visually pleasing than the 500L.

While details about the oily bits are scant and the little Italian B-segment crossover will be properly detailed by Fiat next month at the Paris Motor Show, the 500X should be similarly sized to the Jeep Renegade, its platform brother. Expected to be offered in Cross and Urban styling variants, the all-new Fiat 500X wants to be both chic and a versatile machine in easy offroading situations.

As for pricing, we're sorry to announce it won't be cheap and cheerful like its front fascia design. The entry-level model will reportedly come with a 1.6-liter E.torQ gasoline mill with 110 PS, mated to a five-speed manual transmission. This setup is superior to the most high-end Fiat 500 city car (not the Abarth) available, priced from €17,500 without any optional extras onboard. Alas, it's not that far fetched to assume the base Fiat 500X to start from around 18,000 euros ($23,305 or £14,305 at current rates).
