It’s hard to put your finger on what the Fiat 500X is about. Some say it is the bastard lovechild of a drunken night consumed between the 500 city car and the 500L mini MPV. However, due to the fact it will compete with models such as the Nissan Juke and Renault Captur, the new member of the Cinquecento family is basically a pocket-sized lifestyle crossover.
Our crack team of spy photographers managed to snap the contraption a few times already during testing, even in production-ready form. But this is the first time we’ve secured a photograph of the Fiat 500X interior and it’s just what anybody has been expecting it to be - a combination between the cabin design of the 500 and 500L... with a twist. Heralded as the most important model since the modernized 500, the Fiat 500X has some pretty big shoes to fill all things considered.
Although the button-laden three-spoke steering wheel, three-gauge instrument cluster and gear knob differ from those fitted to other Fiat models, the 5-inch Uconnect touchscreen infotainment system is the same unit as ever down to the very last of buttons, while the white piece of plastic underneath the media screen looks like a cutout from the Fiat 500’s dashboard. The central air vent on the upper dash, as well as the driver and passenger side air vents resemble those from the 500L, along with the air conditioning controls.

However, only time will tell if the Fiat 500X will prove to be a commercial success as big as the Nissan Juke or MINI Countryman.
