Fiat never really came out with a statement that clearly explained what sort of car the 500L is. So until the situation is clarified, we’re just going to consider it a sort of lifestyle vehicle for people who want a 500 with two more doors.
However, the 500L has been called both an MPV and a crossover. Yet another vehicle, most likely also based on the Panda platform, will be launched as the 500 crossover next year. The news comes via a report from Automotive News Europe, which cites an unnamed company source.
The 500X, as the crossover will be called, should go on sale next year and will likely share design language with the 500L. This will be the fifth and biggest car in the 500 range, after the coupe, convertible 500L and the Abarth.
From what we understand, this will actually be the replacement for the Sedici, and its platform will underpin the Jeep B-SUB as well.
