Chrome overriders, huge hub caps and pastel colors – these are just some of the things classic car have going for them and don't any more. But making the retro-styled 500, Fiat is ideally placed to bring the past back, and they've done just that with this special edition.
Called the 1957 Edition, the new 500 model will come out in the US next year and will be available in very limited numbers. You're unlikely to see one of these on the road, but we caught up with the car at the LA Auto Show today.
This cute Cinquecento is on display in Los Angeles in a Celeste, a nice shade of spy blue. 16-inch wheels with a retro chrome lip and center hub cap, embossed with the old Fiat logo from the 50s and 60s. Inside, there's ivory leather and dash trim with contrasting maroon for the seats.
Only 500 of these cars will ever be made and your chance to own one will come in early 2014. But be prepared to pay as much as $20,000.
