FGR Midalu 2500 V6 Motorcycle Introduced

Czech-based 125cc MotoGP team and bike manufacturer FGR have recently introduced a new revolutionary project to the world, one that could make us forget about German, Japanese and even Italian machines: the Midalu 2500 V6. At a total weight of 270kg (595lbs), the bike is relatively light, thanks to the straightforward trellis-style chassis design, and the carbon fibre seat unit and fuel tank.

Back in 2004, Miroslav Felgr came up with the idea to produce a motorcycle with "the greatest cylindre volume all over the world." One year later, he started working on the design, in 2007 the motor was produced, and in early 2008 he presented the first prototype.

The project benefited from support from Czech Republic’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce. Aspiring motorcycle designers were invited to design a motorcycle that would be fitted with the aforementioned V6 engine.

According to the information available on the company’s website, as many as 45 people participated in the design competition and the winner was Stanislav Hanus.

In 2009, the pivoted fork and further components were produced and in the same time continued the works on the design.

The engine turned out to be a 2442cc, liquid-cooled, 90-degree V6 that produces 240 horsepower and more than 200 Nm of torque. Estimated mileage is of about 6-8 l/100km, which is actually not that bad for the biggest - and maybe even the most powerful - normally-aspirated motorcycle engine in the world.

FGR have therefore been testing this Midalu 2500 V6 prototype for about a year now, and if they manage to finance the project and find potential buyers, the machine could enter limited production.
