Ferrari Yet to Answer All the Questions for 2010 Campaign

Ferrari's Stefano Domenicali admitted that there are several questions that have remained unanswered following the 15 days of testing this winter. Although admitting he is very impressed with the level of performance disclosed by the Ferrari F10 during the month of February, the Italian boss said there are some areas that his team is yet to focus in order to have fewer surprises during the opening rounds of the 2010 season.

Here are still some questions to be solved, such as the tires’ behavior at high temperatures and the race strategy management. Just to name a few. With the performances so close together a slight mistake will be enough not to enter Q3, which means that we have to give it our all, all the time: team, drivers, car,” said Domenicali.

Additionally, he insisted that the Formula One field is much closer this year – at least from the title-race standpoint – than in 2009, and reckoned Ferrari are much more prepared to battle for the championship.

I’m not used to make forecasts, but it’s clear that it will be a very balanced Championship, not like last year. Before the tests we thought that there might be four teams able to fight for the title. But what we’ve seen so far there might be even more. (...) We’re ready for the challenge ahead!” added Domenicali.

All in all, the Italian official said he was happy with how the February preparation went for both his team's drivers, especially since the F10 proved to be a very reliable car throughout the 4 tests on schedule.

We’re satisfied with the work done in these four test sessions, especially because we completed the programme we had set up. First of all it was important to get to a good level regarding reliability and I think that we can say that we’ve reached our goal. Although we have to stay really concentrated and improve wherever we can,” said the Ferrari principal.
