Ferrari to Debut Revised Rear Diffuser in Turkey

Ferrari seem to have taken the necessary steps – we're yet to find out if they're the right ones – to catch leaders Red Bull Racing in Turkey. According to a reporter for Spain's AS newspaper, the Ferrari F10s will not only come with a customized engine cover celebrating their 800th grand prix in Formula One, but also with a modified rear diffuser.

The reporter was right outside Ferrari's garage when he took a look inside and noticed some new elements on the car's rear diffuser that were “not seen at other races.” The confirmation will come during today's practice when both Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa will take the car to the track and debut the new diffuser.

Shortly before the official start of the practice sessions on Friday, Alonso partially confirmed the changes on the F10 for Turkey – although he hasn't specified where the changes were implemented – as the car lacked some downforce in Spain.

We know that in Barcelona we had a disadvantage in the total downforce generated by the car and have worked on this issue,” said Alonso, according to El Pais. However, he warned that the changes will not help Ferrari pass Red Bull in Turkey, but only close the gap on them a little bit.

In Barcelona they were almost a second faster than the others, and in the three weeks since it is impossible to have recovered that difference,” added the Spaniard.

Rear diffuser aside, the F10 will also come with an improved F-duct system in Turkey, aimed at further improving the car's performances in straight line.
