Ferrari Thanks Its 15 Million Facebook Fans with LaFerrari Hot Lap

Nowadays, the Ferrari brand is the most powerful in the world. The Prancing Horse logo can be found everywhere from phone covers to the backpacks of school kids, and given that fact, we're not surprised it also plays a big role online, as the Italins managed to rack up 15 million fans on Facebook.

15 million people – that might sound like just another big rounded number, but it's more than the population of certain countries. Think about it, there are more people that love Ferrari than live in New York.

To celebrate this landmark event, one of Ferrari's employees put on a pair of Google Glass and jumped into the passenger seat of the 963 hp LaFerrari hybrid supercar. With test driver Raffaele de Simone behind the wheel, we're in for a short and sweet lap of the Fiorano track in Italy.

If you feel there's something off about the video but you can't really put your finger on it, let us point it out for you: the dubstep music. The Ferrari brand is more than half a century old and precedes the internet by quite a few decades.

The Prancing Horse is even older than that. It was first painted on the fighter plane of World War I ace Francesco Baracca. One day in 1923, Enzo met the airman's mother who said: "Ferrari, put my son's prancing horse on your cars. It will bring you good luck."

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
