If you’ve ever driven a modern Ferrari, chances are you’re already familiar with the work of Dario Benuzzi, who’s been at the helm of road car testing for three decades. As you can expect, the man is far from having retired and the Prancing Horse is now bringing him into the spotlight once again.
For the people over at Ferrari, a “spotlight” destined for such a man simply means giving him another task. The assignment obviously includes spending time behind the wheel, but it’s not just one wheel we’re talking about here.

Oh no. The footage below takes thing in the past way before the Manettino era and we’re talking about the Maranello’s finest. From the LaFerrari and the Enzo, to the F50 and F40, Benuzzi was asked to lap the automaker’s Fiorano church in four generations of the wildest Prancing Horses out there.

Benuzzi turns 70 in January next year, so perhaps this was a birthday present. Aside from helping Ferrari develop its top runners, the man also worked on other projects since 1969, the year when he became a test driver. From the 288 GTO to the FF, this guy’s DNA lies hidden in quite a lot of Ferraris.

The most Prancing of all Horses

While he highlights just how white your knuckles can get in an F40, when talking about the F50 the test driver sticks to mentioning the way in which you can extract the performance at high revs.

When moving to the Enzo, things go from emotions to feelings and still quick Fiorano lap time. As for the LaFerrari, the availability of the performance is what he highlights. Curiously enough, we see him driving in the “Race” mode, not higher, which means both the traction and the stability control were on.

Regardless, the combined voices of these machines, together with their Rosso Corsa hue bring a sweet piece of synesthesia.
