Ferrari: No Pressure on Schumacher!

The fact that Michael Schumacher will return to the Ferrari F60 cockpit some 3 weekends from now did not raise any false expectations at the Maranello headquarters. At least that's what Ferrari's CEO Luca di Montezemolo opinionated earlier today, when asked about how Schu's return will help his team this season.

While admitting that the 7-time world champion's announcement has boosted the confidence of every single mechanic in the Ferrari garage, Di Montezemolo admitted nobody expects any miracles from the 40-year old German.

We are not expecting miracles from him, and neither do the fans. Of course, I won't deny that I hope this is also a positive morale boost for the entire team. The engineers can't wait to work with him. They were all hoping that Schumacher would come back. It's a win-win situation,” said the Italian official to Germany's Die Welt newspaper.

In addition, the Ferrari chief executive admitted that getting Schu back into the Formula One cockpit was no easy job, but the result of a lengthly process.

Personally, I was a bit sceptical about managing to convince him. First of all, because every time I talked to him he always reassured me that he was happy with his current situation - finally having time for his family. He never gave me the impression that he was bored or desperately looking for a new challenge. All of us in Ferrari wanted to see him again in an F1 race,” added the Italian.
