Ferrari Issued 3 Team Orders to Massa in Germany

Ferrari did not issue one team order to Felipe Massa in the German Grand Prix. Instead they've issued three. This is what Germany's Auto Motor und Sport reported on Friday, a few hours before the official start of the Hungarian Grand Prix, suggesting that race engineer Rob Smedley's “conversation” with Massa was the 3rd such warning last Sunday.

In the early laps of the race, Fernando Alonso attacked his teammate corner after corner, bursting at one time at his team, via radio, that “this is ridiculous.” He made that comment because he was obviously faster than his teammate but, because of him having to sit behind, he was losing precious time to 3rd placed Sebastian Vettel.

After each of the Ferrari drivers made his pit stop, Alonso was again very angry with the fact that he had to sit behind Massa once again. With Ferrari telling him there is nothing they can do, Alonso seems to have intentionally drop up to 4 seconds to the Brazilian. This made his race engineer express his concerns over the radio, to which the Spaniard answered “No problem, I will close up.

The consecutive fast laps pulled off by Alonso, as well as the immediate cut in time difference from 4 seconds to less than one second in 5 or 6 laps triggered Ferrari's last warning for Massa.

Although the events in Germany made many believe Alonso will lose some of his fans, the Ferrari-an begs to differ.

Of course it doesn't affect me, not at all. I don't think anything has changed for me or that anything will come back to me. Today when I arrived, the airport was full, also the hotel was full of people cheering for us, and these are the fans I saw so far,” said Alonso in Hungary, while insisting he would have done the same as Massa if the situation were to be reversed.

If the conditions were the same, with the tires not working correcting etcetera... I would surely do the same, the team is the most important thing,” added the Ferrari driver.
