We know this sounds like somebody is selling a Ferrari here, but what's actually being offered here is some sort of a dream, namely the possibility to race with the Prancing Horse. To be more precise, a Ferrari FXX racecar has shown up on Craigslist.
For the less motorsport-passionate audience, we'll explain that, when the Enzo-based FXX racer came around in 2005, Ferrari's customer racing program meant you had to pay for the car, but this stayed with the carmaker, while you were invited to various racing events as a driver.
Wearing the helmet under Ferrari's lead cost about EUR1.5 million or USD 2.5 million. Interestingly enough, this FXX is now offered for three million bucks. Looks like somebody had their share of track adventures and now they'd like to transfer the costs. Earning a small fortune in the process doesn't seem to mind the seller.
Nonetheless, before you rush out to buy this, you should know we are basically on the eve of meeting a new generation of road-based racing Prancing Horses. We're talking about the XX incarnation of the LaFerrari here. A prototype was recently spied (interior included) doing its stuff on the Adria Raceway in Italy.
This is one toy that's worth waiting for and here's the trick - Ferrari's engineers are going to be mighty creative with the LaFerrari XX, simply because making it more powerful isn't necessarily the goal. Instead, they'll be focusing on precision and other such driving assets that make such non-street-legal creatures appealing.

The Prancing Horse only made 30 units of the FXX
This horse is of the rarest breed, as Ferrari only converted 30 units of its Enzo into these racing monsters. Ferrari's technicians learned plenty of valuable lessons thanks to the telemetry systems incorporated into the FXX, so if your 458 behaves in a certain way, perhaps this is thanks to the Enzo's racing brother.Nonetheless, before you rush out to buy this, you should know we are basically on the eve of meeting a new generation of road-based racing Prancing Horses.
