Ferrari FF Air Lift: This Is So James Bond!

Over the next few weeks, some 200 lucky journalists from all over the world will get their turn at the wheel of Ferrari’s new shooting brake. Usually, a presentation of this kind would take place at the Maranello circuit. But not this time!

Ferrari has chosen the Plan De Corones ski resort in Italy to showcase its new four-seater model’s all-wheel drive capabilities. In our eyes, this 1 minute 37 second long video is befitting of any James Bond movie. Seeing that the ski resort is only accessible by ski-lifts, Ferrari has asked for help from the Italian armed forces to air lift the two press cars to Plan De Corones which is situated at an altitude of 2,350 meters (7,700 feet).

The air force provided a CH-47 Chinook transport helicopter from Viterbo’s 1st Regiment Antares, as well as three Agusta 205 helicopters (Italian versions of the Huey) from the 4th Regiment Altair from the Italian armed forces stationed in Bolzano.

Ferrari could have organized a regular party at the track, with regular technological showcases and regular interviews with the development team, but there is nothing... regular about the FF.

Much like its 612 forbear, the Ferrari FF offers a mid/front-mounted V12 and 4 seats with enough headroom for adults in the back. The performance machine’s mill is a 660 hp GDI 6.3-liter unit that is mated to a 7-speed F1 DCT and Ferrari's 4RM all-wheel drive system.

Enjoy the HD video below at your own risk. This message will self destruct in 10 seconds!

He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
