Late last week, Ferrari unveiled the F60America, a special kind of car they built specifically to celebrate the company’s 60th anniversary in the land of the eagles, apple pie and all things freedom. Only 10 of them will ever be built and have already been sold. So, is this a small footnote in the history of the famous supercar brand that only two handfuls of people need care about? Far from it, because this modified F12 demands attention everywhere it goes, starting with its debut event organized on Rodeo Drive, Beverly Hills.
Thanks to supercar spotter Shmee150 and his selfie-style filming, we have the very first video of The F60America and a valuable tidbit of information. According to the Brit, this F12-based roadster is rumored to cost anywhere from 2.5 to 3 million dollars. Ferrari probably didn't ask for such a well rounded bank transfer, but for the sake of the arguments we want to make, we'll stick with the 2.5 mil, equivalent to about 2 million euro coins or roughly eight times the price of base F12.

With that kind of money fetched, the comparison between the F60America and the Lamborghini Veneno is kind of inevitable. In its ultimate roadster form, the Veneno Roadster, the Bull reportedly fetched an even ore exorbitant sum: $4.5 million or €3.5 million. What's a couple of million in this day and age?

In return, Sant'Agata Bolognese assembled a machine that uses an extensive amount of carbon fiber-reinforced polymer. It also looked nothing like the Aventador it was based on, which is more than we can say about the F60America.

Is it worth it?

Because the America's exterior is as subtle as Beverly Hills plastic surgery, we're most taken with its interior. This features a twin-color design where the driver is cocooned in red leather and carbon fiber, while the passenger experiences the blackest black, a nod to the cabins of racing Ferraris. Both seats also feature a stripe down the center in the colors of the American flag.

As for the powerplant, it's a typical Berlinetta screaming V12, capable of delivering the same impressive 731 hp (740 PS in EU-spec). 0 to 100 km/h still takes 3.1 seconds and the America should be more than capable of getting fully sideways if needed.
