Ferrari F430 Gets ASI Clothing

Tuning a Ferrari is not for every tuning house or garage out there and, as you have already seen, it is not everyday we get to talk about bulked up Ferraris. Today is one of the days when we can do that, as Japanese tuner ASI (Accuracy. Spirit. Imagination.) unveiled its tuning program for the Ferrari F430.

Usually set on tuning the Bentley Continental series, the Japanese took a break from the British built car and turned its sights on the F430. ASI came up with a body kit, consisting of front bumper, side skirts and front/rear bumper.

The kit, which costs $15,000 "offers aerodynamic performance identical to Ferrari stock parts but at a 27kg weight reduction," the tuner says. The rear bumper provided by ASI is compatible both with the F430’s stock exhaust and ASI’s new exhaust system.

Engine and suspension tweaks are also being provided by ASI, even if the upgrades are minor: ECU tuning chip and the Sachs suspension system. The ECU, which costs $7,500, is only designed to improve mid-range torque, while the suspension system ($13,000) prevents Ferrari ECU errors.

"Applying expert Japanese technical analysis, careful testing and a truly imaginative and spirited design is not only our business, it’s our passion. Thoroughly tested both around the city and around the track, we are confident that we are releasing what will quickly become the tuning world’s most important Ferrari F430 body kit," ASI says.

Not sure about that "most important Ferrari F430 body kit" though. By following this link, you will see Unique Sportcars' Ferrari F430 Calavera, the "mother of future design implementations", as Unique calls it. Compare the two and then see what's what.
