2013 is the last chapter in Formula 1's V8 history as the series downsizes. But one manufactures is too easily associated with the racing V8 to let things go so easily, Ferrari, who over the years has made a habit of fuzing racing technology and design with road cars, especially when it came to the engines.
The covers were taken off the new 2013 racing car at the factory in Maranello today. The model has been named the F138, the F standing for both Ferrari and Formula 1, the 13 for the 2013 season, and the 8 for the number of cylinders in the car (a 2.4-liter V8 with KERS).

The car is elegantly simple in its design, as straight as arrow, with no stepped nose in sight. The racing team's main sponsors adorn the red paintjob – Shell, Santander, Kaspersky Lab, Hublot, TNT, and Philip Morris. But there's still no mistaking this for anything other than an Italian marvel. Hopefully, the F138 is ready to win races.

Mihnea's favorite cars have already been built, the so-called modern classics from the '80s and '90s. He also loves local car culture from all over the world, so don't be surprised to see him getting excited about weird Japanese imports, low-rider VWs out of Germany, replicas from Russia or LS swaps down in Florida.
