Ferrari F12 vs. Lamborghini Aventador Roadster, the Atmospheric V12 Drag Race

We're here to deal with that, which is why we've brought you a little drag race involving a Ferrari F12berlinetta and a Lamborghini Aventador Roadster - yes, the Raging Bull isn't the fixed-roof model, so it doesn't fit the description above 100 %, but given the other Aventador flavors Lambo has released, this one is a match after all.

The two Italian machines duked it out on an airfield runway. The battle saw them engaging in a half-mile shenanigan, but this requires a bit of explaining. The driver of the Sant'Agata Bolognese machine seems to have had a bit of trouble at the start, which allowed the Prancing Horse to grab the lead.

However, this is one of those fights where crossing the finish line first is less important than the velocity your machine achieves at the end of the race. Well, all we can tell you for now is that, throughout the day, the maximum speeds the two rivals hit were incredibly close.

And while the two may be just right when it comes to a fair race, the real-world experiences they deliver are extremely different. Sure, both Italian exotics are animated by naturally aspirated V12s and see the driver changing gears via paddles, but this is where the important similarities end.

While delivering overly impressive performance, the Ferrari always plays the GT role, mixing its ease of driving with a hefty luggage compartment. As for the Lamborghini, this feels a bit heavy in terms of the driver interaction, but manhandling it will make you the master of an extraordinary show.
