When Chrysler's head of design and boss of all things SRT unveiled the new 2013 Viper, he said the car’s power to weight ration is second only to one particular Ferrari monster. What’s more, the people in attendance when the car was unveiled in New York cheered for Ralph Gilles when he said that they got in touch with Ferrari suppliers for the interior and that the car featured advanced materials.
But of course, SRT is owned by Chrysler, while Ferrari by Fiat, so both performance car makers answer to the same man, CEO Sergio Marchionne. According to him, Ferrari Chairman Luca Cordero di Montezemolo was given an up close and personal meeting with the brand-new 2013 SRT Viper and he was so impressed that the whole experience left him “speechless.”

"The car is a superb machine. I had the chairman of Ferrari down here for the board meeting last week and he had a chance to look at the car, and he was speechless. I mean, for Ferrari to admit that the car is a unique vehicle is a hell of a compliment to the work that's gone on here. So I'm delighted. I mean, so far, knock on wood, we're doing well," Fiat and Chrysler CEO Sergio Marchionne said in an interview with WJR-AM radio.

The 2013 SRT Viper packs 640 hp and 600 lb-ft of torque from a 8.4-liter V10. This thing is not only 40 hp more potent than before, but also a veritable torque monster. Redline is 6,200 rpm, and fuel shuts off at 6,400 rpm.
