We’re out testing Ferrari’s California in... California. While one would think that this means we have all the right ingredients for one of the best days out there, things aren’t quite so.
That’s because the Ferrari California is a nice collection of assets, but these don’t add up to form the desired result. For instance, the GT aura of the California requires a comfort threshold that the car fails to meet.

As for the sports car part, Ferrari’s California has a really sweet V8, one that’s feeding us with thrills right now. The Manettino switch, which only has three positions in the California, is in “Sport” right now and the car behaves pretty nice.

Alas, the gearbox could use some help at times, especially when you leave it in Auto and are looking for a kick down.

Speaking of watching things, the scenery has started flying past us at a rather fast rate, so we’re inviting you to visit our Ferrari California test drive, so we can get into the details.
