The Ferrari California has been around for about four years now and it has recently been given a slight refresh for 2012, but the car will be completely replaced next summer, according to Car & Driver.
Thankfully, for fans of 1960s design, you’ll be happy to know that the next folding hardtop Ferrari will be retro-inspired, taking styling cues from the iconic 250 GTO - a very exclusive and rare car, one of which being built for Sir Stirling Moss and recently sold for a gigantic wad of cash.
We’re also sure that the California-replacement will feature a turbocharged engine, but whether it’s a V6 or a V8, we’re not yet sure. To boost the car’s green credentials and performance (ever so slightly), Ferrari will fit it with their kinetic energy recovery system (KERS) and power levels are expected to be considerably higher than those of the current car, with values of around 600 hp.
