Ferrari-bodied Triumph With Chevy 350 V8 for Sale on eBay

If we had to combine elements from all of the world’s automakers into one awesome project, we’d take bodywork from the Italians (except Pininfarina), an engine from the Germans and the drive’s feel of a British sportscar. Somebody tried to get the formula right, and they actually somewhat succeeded.

While endlessly sifting the internet for interesting motors, we stumbled upon this very special hybrid, and we aren’t talking about the gas-electric sort. Frankenstein’s monster began life as a regular 1957 - cute but not something to write home about. The builder than stripped it to its bare bones and fitted it with the body of a Ferrari and the heart in the shape of a Chevy 350 V8. Talk about cross-continental breeding!

All that remains of its British donor car are the number and chassis plates, front suspension, windshield wiper motor, tail lights and fuel filler cap. The bodywork, or the “coachbuilt body”, as the eBay auction describes it, is a combination of hand-shaped aluminum and glass fibre.

We mentioned the Chevy V8 under the bonnet, but there’s also an Edelbrock manifold and carburetor, TH350 transmission and a Ford 9” limited slip differential. The builder also fitted his creation with an integral roll bar, four-link rear suspension and wide 275/50R15 rubber, so it should stick the rubber to the road reasonably well.

“Please note the superb quality of the craftsmanship this car has been constructed with, particularly the very high quality of the wiring,” the seller says.
