While it may have become more mainstream than some would have liked, and not by the pricing of their cars, but by the philosophy and the thinking behind their latest offerings, Ferrari is still a world-renowned maker of exclusive automobiles. This is why news like this is quite odd, since their market usually remains stable, and the usual fluctuations in their sales records are measured by decimals, instead of full percentages.
The Italian automaker is doing very well, with revenues of €1,76-billion, and a net profit of €959-million, Ferrari have achieved their all-time best industrial net cash profit. This represents a 10% improvement over last year’s numbers. Trading profits are also up, by 9.6%, reaching a total of €232.8-million, while net profits climb 7.6% to €152.4-million.

In total, Ferrari managed to sell 5,267 units, so far in the year (6% up), of which 1,354 went to the US (16% up), 504 to the UK (37% up), 534 ended up in Germany (only 9% up), Japan with 214 cars (20% up), China with 566 (7% up) and the Middle East with 274 units delivered.

Luca di Montezemolo, the boss of Ferrari said: “These results confirm Ferrari’s excellent performance in practically all of the 60 nations in which it is present despite the continuing economic climate. Once again the exception is Italy where we have witnessed a drop partly due to the economic crisis, but also to a hostile environment for luxury goods which have long been, and continue to be, an important resource for the country.”
