Ferrari and Panerai Present New Lap Time Chronograph

A new chronograph will be available for Ferrari fans worldwide in the Ferrari Store online from August 1, 2009. The limited edition Lap-Time Chronograph comes to complete the rest of the apparel and accessories products available in the Panerai collection dedicated to the Italian carmaker.

Seeing the timepiece and finding out some of its specs and details will most probably strengthen the idea of better buying the affordable chronograph than the six-figure sportscars.

Ferrari Lap-Time Chronograph features:

  • Swiss anadigit multifunction chronograph movement
  • black rubber strap, front has Ferrari shield log, internal has Scuderia Ferrari embossing
  • main analogue display
  • two alternate time zone digital displays
  • full chronometer 1/100 sec
  • split times, timer and tachometer
  • non-reflective mineral crystal
  • solid stainless steel waterproof case with special engraved logo
  • date/day/year/month display
  • digital alarm
  • water resistant to 5 ATM

The 44 mm PVD-coated stainless steel case houses an anadigit movement made by Isaswiss, which is able to display three different time zones and timing laps around the race track along with offering calendar and alarm functions, Luxist reported.

Other models from Panerai’s Ferrari Scuderia Collection are the Ferrari California Flyback Chronograph launched in December 2008, while the Ferrari Chronograph Red Dial and the Ferrari Chronograph Yellow Dial were added earlier this year.

However, the recently launched model remains the most affordable timepiece in the collection, priced at a reasonable 245.83 euros ($350).
