Ferrari has finally released the official video of its 599XX Evolution track car’s first shakedowns at the Suzuka Circuit in Japan.
The car you see here is what Maranello though would be the right swan song to mark the end of the 599 GTB. It’s a car for people with way too much money, and enhances the already mental performance of the 599XX with a new wing at the back and some weight reduction.
Suzuka is actually one of Ferrari’s “Corsa Clienti” events. Millionaires (or potentially billionaires) just turn up at the track and do some motorsport, but they are never allowed to take the car home, as Ferrari takes it.
The updated 599XX’s party piece is its Enzo-sourced engine that now makes 750-horses at 9,000 rpm with a peak torque of 700Nm (516.3 lb-ft). The car is also lighter, which should help withe handling. This makes it the fastest car to have ever lapped the Fiorano track in Italy.
