In terms of supercars, the first recorded crash of a certain machine is always painful, but when it happens due to street racing, things climb to a whole new level.
As you’ve already figured out by now, we are referring to the first Ferrari 488 GTB accident, which has recently taken place in Germany. While people are still watching the first real-world photos of the 458’s turbocharged incarnation over the web, a youngster got his hands on the car and managed to ruin it.
According to the local media, the 22-year old was racing another Ferrari, as well as an Audi R8 in Cologne when the crash took place. The supercar was in a tunnel at the time, with the Prancing Horse losing a part of its front end in the wall encounter.
Local reports show the youngster was not the owner of the car, having only borrowed it for a ride, which double-explains his reckless driving.
The Mercedes-AMG GT, as well as the Mercedes-AMG C63 shared the accident, with an example of the latter crashing into the former during an AMG event in South Africa.
Two AMG GTs and just as many C63s were pulling a zig-zag stunt when the driver of the sportscar fell behind schedule. The delay caused the C63 to t-bone the two-seater, with both cars being written off in the process. Fortunately, that doesn’t seem to be the case with this Ferrari. By what we can tell from the image above, this twin-turbo Maranello machine will be able to get back on the road afrer a cash injection.
