Earlier this week, we came across a rendering showing the 2017 Acura NSX that had received an oddball-grade makeover, one involving a roof box. Well, we're now back on the topic to show you a Ferrari 488 GTB that has gone through a somewhat similar transformation.
Coming from the same digital art label, namely HPF Design, the twin-turbo Maranello machine has been gifted with a mix of mods that will probably raise one or two eyebrows.
"I'm really enjoying these supercars with roof box and snowy theme, here's another Winter Beater Ferrari 488 with a little bit of twist," the description of the virtual contraption reads.
At first, it might seem like this Prancing Horse project is the opposite of the NSX development mentioned in the intro. Roof hauling aside, it wouldn't be too strange to see an NSX being gifted with a Liberty Walk bodykit (the one in the rendering seemed to resemble an LB Walk package). As for the Fezza seen here, the ground clearance issues alone are enough to set this apart from the Honda.
However, this wouldn't be the first Ferrari being used for hardcore winter purposes. Come to think of it, this wouldn't even be the first twin-turbo Maranello supercar assisting its owner with snow-related matters.
Back in March, we showed you an F40 that (purists should stop reading here) had ben gifted with snow chains and yellow lights like the ones seen here, all with the aim ob being used for a snow-flooded camping trip in Japan.
Owner Takeshi Kimura headed for the hills of Nagano, visiting the place that hosted the 1998 Winter Olympics in style. Prancing Horse style, that is. And if you feel like this pixel play was inspired from that story, you're not the only one.
The two Ferraris we're discussing here are separated by quite a hefty ride height difference, though, but there's nothing a bit of aftermarket work can't solve.
And if such a jportscar (jacked-up sportscar) solution wouldn't work, the driver of such a 488 could always take things slowly and turn to the nose lift system of the supercar.
