Any car that needs to be put in the same sentence as the Ferrari 458 Italia is going to have a tough time. That's because this rear-wheel drive supercar has built a solid reputation for handling, looks and exotic interior finishes.
But its successor is up to the challenge. The 488 GTB is not only the first turbocharged car from Ferrari in a really long time, but it is also a beautiful machine.
And what better way to examine all the lines on the new Ferrari than to have it sitting on your desk. A Japanese model company called MR Collection has just released the first photos of its 1/18 scale 488 GTB in Rosso Corsa, announcing availability in black, yellow and other tones.
We've been following these fellows for over a year, and they usually deliver quality products way before the actual production model is delivered. It's the same case with this, as nobody has yet to take delivery of the real 488 supercars.
You probably think that this model needs to sit on your desk as soon as possible, but there's a problem. We've searched through their inventory and found most 1/18 models cost about $400.
Since the full-scale machine is 4,567mm from bumper to bumper, the model is about 25 centimeters long, or just under 10 inches. That means there's room to add an accurate interior, brakes, mirrors and an engine on this model.
We're betting that with 100 extra horsepower and these looks, Ferrari are on to a winner with this new supercar. So you'd better get the model before all your friends have one.
